DFWKIK, in conjunction with the SWKIF, is excited to announce the 2025 Nabeshima Cup Invitational Taikai, Seminar, and SWKIF Spring Shinsa up to 4 dan. The events will take place April 4th - April 6th .
DFWKIK would like to formally invite all members of your dojo to participate in the 2025 Nabeshima Cup Invitational Taikai! This year we are honored to welcome Michio Kajitani Sensei, Kyoshi 7 Dan, President of the AUSKF, President of the Southwest Kendo & Iaido, Head Instructor of the Inlands Empire Kendo Dojo, who served as Shinpan at 2018 and 2024 World Kendo Championships, as our Shinpancho.
We are likewise honored to welcome back Doug Imanishi Sensei, Kyoshi 7 Dan, AUSKF Competition Committee member, Risk Management Committee member, Insurance Committee Chairperson, Head Instructor of Seattle Kendo Kai, who served as the President of Pacific Northwest Kendo Federation, and who served as Shinpan in 2018 and 2024 World Kendo Championships, as our guest instructor for the Friday evening seminar.
This year we will offer the following divisions for the Nabeshima Cup Invitational Taikai:
● Junior Youth Individuals (8 - 12 years)
● Senior Youth Individuals (13 - 16 years)
● Mudansha Individuals (1 kyu and below)
● Yudansha Individuals (1 dan - 3 dan)
● Women’s Individuals (3 dan and below)
● “Texas Open” Individuals (4 dan and above)
● Adult Teams (All Ranks)
Junior Youth and Senior Youth divisions may be combined depending on registration.
If you qualify for multiple individual divisions, please be aware you may only compete in one.
